Employer-sponsored charitable giving programs support the vital work of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation with much needed contributions. Payroll pledge campaigns represent a cost effective and near effortless way to donate to our programs including HRC's Children, Youth and Families Program, HRC's Health and Aging Program, HRC's Religion and Faith Program, HRC's Workplace Equality Program, HRC's Youth and Campus Engagement Program and HRC's Global Engagement Program, among other important initiatives.
You can ensure the HRC Foundation’s continued success through a variety workplace giving models. Private employers, federal, state and local governments all offer payroll deduction opportunities. More than 60% of Fortune 500 companies provide an electronic campaign option. Check with your human resources department to learn more about your employer’s workplace giving options. Many companies will match your contribution up to a pre-determined limit. Participating in a matching gift program not only amplifies your gift but it gives you the opportunity to directly influence your company's philanthropic endeavors in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer equality.
One of the largest employee-giving programs is the Combined Federal Campaign. Approximately 4 million federal employees are solicited annually throughout the United States and overseas to donate to eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. You can designate the HRC Foundation as recipient of your generosity using CFC number 11893 on your pledge forms. The campaign’s season is generally, September 1 through December 15. Check with your agency for exact dates for any given year.
You can also donate to us through your local United Way affiliate as well. Simply write in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation as the designee through your workplace giving program.
The HRC Foundation works through America’s Charities, a workplace giving federation, to promote our mission to employers' workplace giving programs nationwide. They raise over $40 million annually through payroll pledges for a variety of progressive organizations. If your company does not have a workplace giving program, please ask your employee benefits director to contact America’s Charities at 800-458-9505 or visit their website at www.charities.org for more information.
